I don't agree that Sony's showing was piss poor. It was actually pretty good. I just don't think it was as good as Microsoft's.
A poll over at cnet shows that a large majority thought Microsoft had the best press event.

Exactly. That is why it makes no sense to compare the numbers Sony is touting to the numbers on Xbox LIVE.
Xbox LIVE has more content and generally better content than PSN. Anybody that has both systems knows that's the truth.
The Last Guardian is a beautiful game. Finally the mystery has been solved.
Yeah, I would love to hear something from Rare as well.
Milo was awesome and I think Molyneux is brilliant. I was wondering if Lionhead was going to have anything else to announce. It is going to be great.
I don't know about some of the people here but this is far from being the only gaming site I frequent and the general consensus I am seeing on various sites around the net is that Microsoft had the best showing this year. The CNet poll is just one example: http://polls.cnet.com/polls...
I agree with the consensus. Microsoft>Sony>Nintendo...
Wow that really is impressive. I'm really glad I have a PSP. I still love the Gran Turismo series and this looks slick.
It's a great game, but I already play it on my backwards compatible PS3 and my homebrew PSP.
You were right.
@P_Bomb below me
That's just the thing. I think Microsoft has a better lineup of games this year. For my 360 I am getting Forza 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, Halo ODST and Left4Dead 2 this year and Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2 early next year. For my Ps3 the only games I plan on getting are Uncharted 2 this year and God of War 3 next year. The rest of the PS3 games simply don't look that interesting to me, or they are far off and have no set release...
I agree with the guy above me about the PS3 motion controller just feeling like an enhanced Wiimote after having seen Natal.
Alan Wake, Uncharted 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Forza 3 were the best games shown. Most of which were Microsoft titles.
Microsoft had the games, the new features for the 360, the Metal Gear Solid announcement and Natal. It was by far the best showing out of the three.
Natal is on a whole different level from what Nintendo or Sony are doing. People that say otherwise simply don't understand the technology.
Sony's technology is a big improvement over the Wiimote though.
Natal felt like something revolutionary, while the PS3 motion device simply felt evolutionary.
There is a gulf of difference between these two technologies in my opinion.
Right now the 360 version is reported to run better.
@Neo
Sure, that is why MGS4 can't even run at 720P, huh?
You guys make me laugh.
Quit blaming the 360. If anything it is probably the other way around.
All my 360 games scale beautifully to 1080P by the way. My PS3 games on the other hand either don't scale or they scale very poorly, thus reducing the picture quality.
Neither console can really handle graphics of this quality at a native 1080P resolution. So quit trying to blame the 360 for that.
That is one thing I like better about the 360, it upscales games very well to 1080P. Many PS3 games don't scale or they scale very poorly, which reduces the quality of the image.
"Crytek is known for its technical excellence, and we also quizzed Yerli on his impressions of the differences between the two HD platforms. "I mean essentially the game we run is about the same," he said. "Probably one’s stronger on the GPU side, one’s stronger on the CPU side, so depending on what you’re doing where, the PS3 does perform here sometimes better, the 360 performs other things better, but overall by the time the game ships it’ll be absolutely the same."...
Oh really Tom? Alan Wake was by far one of the best looking and most promising games of the show.
Let me guess, you are a fan of the other console and that is why you need to pretend Alan Wake didn't look good.
I wanted Onimusha too. Oh well...
